Polymer Science and Processing 01: Introduction

Описание: Lecture by Nicolas Vogel. This course is an introduction to polymer science and provides a broad overview over various aspects of polymers, from synthetic methods, via polymer physics and materials properties to processing into products. The overarching aim of the course is to connect molecular properties and chain architecutres of polymers with resulting macroscopic properties.

This chapter gives a broad and general introduction about the contents of the course, a historical perspective on polymer science, classification of polymers, as well as an introduction to molecular weight distributions.
