A disturbing incident has surfaced from Mylavaram Mandal, where students of an MPP school in Devuni Cheruvu complained about poor-quality food served under the government’s mid-day meal scheme.
According to students, the rice reportedly contained worms and the boiled eggs had a foul smell. Unable to eat the food, many children threw their meals into dustbins. Parents, frustrated with the situation continuing for nearly three months, dialed the 112 emergency helpline and lodged a complaint.
Police visited the school to inquire into the matter, where students openly expressed their concerns about the quality of food. The incident has raised serious questions about the implementation of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme and food safety standards in government schools.
