The Likutey Moharan of Rebbe Nachman teaches us how to serve God like human being, and how to build a relationship with God like human beings. Rebbe Nachman understood that we are only humans, and we need practical advice for life. God’s will for us is not to learn Torah all day, and keep all of those inspirational jewish teaching inside of us. He want the torah lessons to make us better people! Learning Torah should make us better Jews. God’s will is not for us to just practice orthodox Judaism, keep the jewish laws, keep the mitzvot and commandments, and learn torah. Hashem wants us to use that Torah that we learned to help others! To understand the deeper meaning in the torah and to become more kind. To learn a piece of Torah about Charity, and then actually give charity. To be inspired by a piece of Torah about peace in the home, and then to go help a couple you know with their shalom bayit. That is God’s will for those who learn Torah and practice Judaism, or even those who are not jewish, but want to build a relationship with God anyways.
