Introduction to the PhysicsAI team competing in the DARPA AlphaDogfight Trials (ADT), a virtual competition designed to demonstrate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms that can perform simulated within-visual-range air combat maneuvering, colloquially known as a dogfight.
The PhysicsAI autonomous agent is trained from scratch with no prior knowledge, and over thousands of flights learns on its own how to fly and perform basic fighter maneuvers (BFM) using end-to-end Deep Reinforcement Learning.
