They Rode On (Watain) - Bacchante Piano Cover

Описание: It's been a while since I played some piano. Here with my piano cover for They Rode On from album The Wild Hunt (2013), by Watain.

This melody, the words, and the voice of Watain's singer (Erik) combined bring such solemn, aching, and dire feelings... but at the same time, there is a strange calmness in it.

There are many ways you can interpret or relate to "They Rode On". It might be about the travelers/wanderers who march through the land with absolution and solemnity, despite everything. It might be related to The Wild Hunt of Odin in (Nordic Folklore).

However, in my perception: "They" is a thing that is ancient and true, it is birthed from nothingness, since the the beginning of time. And it emerged from water - life itself. "They" - a newborn but so ancient at the same time, it has this kind of sadness, but solitarily prideful, something unspeakable. Marching through day with closed eyes, riding through night with eyes opened wide, through hidden roads, through wastelands, through beasts and men, it is scarred but unchanged.

And it still exists, in every soul. This something has always been living inside of us, without you acknowledging it or not. It is there. Would you join its path? Would you accept to let go of this day light so vain that you're used to, and let it open you to your own selves and begin your unpleasant path into the deeper place within, the places that you dare not to look at, even with the price of sacrificing your life?

That question is so aching. But I think... even without you answering to it, or yes, or no, it will take you on its path at some point.
