Here’s an easy recipe to follow with #𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐟𝐬𝐀𝐭𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐢 in Episode 1 of #𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐢
𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒊 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒎
𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
Thinai Arisi (Foxtail Millet) - 120 gm
Palm Jaggery + Water for making syrup - 180 gm + 60 ml
Coconut Milk - 120 ml
Cashew nut - 15 pieces
Dry Ginger - 2 gm
Cardamom Powder - 2 gm
Ghee - 60 ml
Water - 120 ml
𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝:
1) In a warm frying pan, pour 45 ml ghee and roast the cashew nut on low flame
2) Once roasted to a golden brown colour, keep aside in a bowl
3) Using the same pan, pour additional 15 ml ghee to roast the thinai arisi (foxtail millet) till a pleasant aroma arises and cook over simmer
4) Once golden brown, pour the coconut milk on the foxtail millet, mix well and cook until the millet cooks completely
5) Simultaneously, heat karupatti jaggery with half a cup of water until it is dissolved completely, and keep it aside
6) Strain the thickened jaggery directly into the millet mixture and mix well
7) Add dry ginger and cardamom powder.
8) Add roasted cashew nuts
9) Mix well and garnish with finely sliced roasted almonds
10) Serve it hot and enjoy!
