A batch of commercials that will help you remember the good old days of hardware chains like Grossman's, especially if you're from New England. Like many stores in the hardware industry, many of which were regional chains, Grossman's largely did not survive the arrival of "big box" stores like Home Depot, and the last of its main stores closed in 1996.
The Grossman's name lived on for quite a while through the Grossman's Bargain Outlet stores, but I believe those were operated by a company that simply bought the rights to the name (?).
