About Task XVIII:
The IEA IETS Task XVIII is a technology collaboration program of the International Energy Agency (IEA) with the goal to help countries provide secure and sustainable energy for all. The topic of Task XVIII is “Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence and Related Technologies for Energy Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction in Industry”. Within Task XVIII TU Wien leads Subtask 2 on “Methods and applications of digital twins”, where a group of experts from academia and industry works on a detailed assessment of digital twins in industrial energy systems. Specifically, their potential to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
