Our squadron received upgraded A-7D variant (from 1978) with new ALR-69 RWR, Pave Penny laser-spot tracker for using guided bombs and AGM-65 Maverick missiles.
For this mission we're tasked with SEAD around Nürnberg. Apparently only AAA present there, but I'm taking Shrikes just in case any SAM pops up. With this new RWR at least we can see what emitters spikes us.
Mission was accomplished, I was promoted to Major. One A-7 was lost, pilot ejected but was captured.
