According to reports, an RTI query has revealed that Ahmedabad Cooperative Bank, one of whose directors is BJP President Amit Shah secured demonetised note deposits worth over Rs 745 crores in just five days after demonetisation was announced. Did the bank employees manage to inspect and count all the notes before taking them as deposits? Is the government still to investigate possible money laundering activities that were allegedly taking place in cooperative banks after demonetisation?
