Human Rights Violation & Challenges of International Students in Northern Cyprus | Human Rights Day

Описание: Human Rights Day is celebrated annually around the world on the 10th of December. On this day, we share with you some of the horrendous breaches of Human Rights, faced by us international students in Northern Cyprus.

Ever since January 2021, VOIS embarked on an ambitious project to record and compile instances of Human rights Violations faced by foreign students, in Northern Cyprus. Since the commencement of the project, VOIS has recorded 28 cases of horrendous breaches of human rights.

Needless to say, this horrific reality calls for urgent action from duty-bearers and all members of society. We remind our fellow international students to continue on speaking up about their rights, and to reach out to us upon encountering incidents that threatens their access to their inherent Human Rights.

We remain hopeful that by recording such violations in an organized and scientific manner, to be posted on every quarter, we can contribute to the betterment of Northern Cyprus, through contributing to the awareness of the menace these actions mean for society.
