During a routine 12-week ultrasound, newlyweds and newly pregnant Stephanie and Andy Schoonover received news of a terminal prenatal diagnosis - anencephaly. It was an unfortunate fluke that would not only take their daughter's life from theirs, but stole a lifetime of hopes and dreams in a matter of moments. They spent the remaining six months of Stephanie’s pregnancy devoted to loving their daughter, Grace, well during the time they were given with her.

Stephanie experienced an unspeakable joy while carrying Grace and recognized there was a desperate need for a resource to help those who receive a similar prognosis as they had navigate the months ahead. While they were supported by physicians, family, and friends, Stephanie found there was a shortage of information and resources available online for those who choose to carry to term.

Stephanie’s deep appreciation for carrying Grace led her to found the non-profit Carrying To Term. And so, Stephanie gathered a team of smart, creative talent to build an online space that would connect and fill this gap. Carrying To Term was born with a dedication to providing support for your emotional, logistical, and educational needs - whether you're a patient, a friend or relative, or a medical professional.

Today Stephanie and Andy reside in Austin, Texas, where they are devoted parents to younger daughter Ava, along with Grace’s legacy, and their pup, Butler.
