The hospital was named in his honor, a lasting legacy of his fight for equality and excellence in healthcare.
Today, his impact pulses through the work of Dr. Donald Suggs, who champions Black voices in media; Lois Collier-Jackson, a proud graduate of Phillips’ nursing program; and Dr. Will Ross, who continues the fight for healthcare equity. Together, they keep Phillips’ heartbeat of justice and empowerment alive, ensuring his mission endures in medicine and beyond.
