한국적 레게와 뽕짝의 만남! '이박사'와 '윈디시티'는 다년간 음악적 관계를 이어오고 있다. 대중적인 친화력으로 내재된 흥을 가지고 삶이라는 현장의 생생함을 뽕짝 음악에 담아온 이박사 그리고 레게와 소울이라는 음악으로 자신들의 생생한 삶을 표현해 온 윈디시티, 이 두 팀은 다르면서도 비슷한 부분이 많다. 이들은 2013년 윈디시티의 미니앨범 '모십니다' 에서 우주몽키 곡 협연을 통해 인연이 시작되었으며, 그동안 많은 무대에서 다양한 관객들과 만나왔다.

A Meeting of ppongjjak and Reggae Masters

'EPaksa' and 'Windy City' have maintained a musical relationship for many years. EPaksa, with his innate charisma and ability to capture the vividness of life in his trot music, and Windy City, who express their own vibrant lives through reggae and soul music, share many similarities despite their differences. Their connection began in 2013 with a collaboration on the track "Monkey Magic” from Windy City’s mini-album “full greating” You, and since then, they have performed together on numerous stages, engaging with a wide variety of audiences.

뽕짝 마스터 ‘이박사’
‘신빠람 이박사’를 설명하자면 대중적인 친화력으로 내재된 '흥'과 그의 한결같은 ‘뽕짝’ 음악을 빼 놓을수가 없다. 그의 나이 17세때부터 시작된 음악 인생은 POP, ROCK, 국악등을 공부하며 내공을 쌓다가 나훈아의 ‘고향역’ 작품자 ‘임종수’를 만나면서 ‘뽕짝’음악의 길로 들어선다. ‘신바람 이박사 1집’(1989년)으로 가요계에 정식 데뷔를 한 그는 1996년에는 일본으로 진출하여 ‘YMCA’ 'Monkey Magic'등의 히트곡으로 한국인 최초로 일본 무도관에서 공연을 하며 최전성기를 맞이한다. 그 후로도 꾸준한 공연 및 앨범제작 ‘윈디시티’, ‘프로듀서 250’과 같은 후배 아티스트들과의 협업등 그의 왕성한 음악활동은 계속 되고 있다.

When describing ‘Shin Baram EPaksa,’ it’s impossible to leave out his deep-rooted charisma and his consistent devotion to ‘trot’ music. His music career began at the age of 17, during which he studied various genres like pop, rock, and traditional Korean music, building a solid foundation. He entered the world of trot music after meeting Lim Jong-soo, the composer of Na Hoon-a's famous song "Gohyang Station."
He made his official debut in the music industry with ‘Shin Baram EPaksa Vol.1’ (1989). In 1996, he expanded into Japan, where he achieved great success with hit songs like ‘YMCA’ and ‘Monkey Magic,’ becoming the first Korean artist to perform at Japan’s Budokan. Since then, he has continued his vibrant career, consistently performing, producing albums, and collaborating with younger artists such as Korea’s representative reggae band ‘Windy City’ and producer ‘250.’ His active musical journey continues to this day.
