The Melee community in the past has had somewhat of a tumultuous relationship with the creator of Smash, Masahiro Sakurai. I wanted to break down the history of this particular relationship with Sakurai that we've had over the years and how it's changed, and also take a peek at some of the things Sakurai's said about his thoughts on competitive Smash and how those sentiments, too, have evolved over the years.
