1) Use a scale or use teaspoons/tablespoons to measure the coffee according to the below table. We highly recommend using a scale when possible.
2) Heat enough water to make the coffee based on the table below plus a few extra ounces that will be used to pre-heat the dripper and carafe. Ideally, the water should be heated to about 200 degrees (+/- 5 degrees) Fahrenheit.
3) Place the filter inside of the dripper and set above the carafe.
4) Pour a few ounces of hot water over the entire filter. Discard the water and place the dripper back on top of the carafe.
5) Put coffee into filter and gently tap to level the grounds before adding just enough hot water to cover the grounds. Spend about 15 seconds pouring water back and forth over the coffee to saturate all of it, or use a spoon to ensure all the grounds are wet. Once saturated, wait about 30 seconds.
6) Add remaining water by slowly pouring over all of the coffee, including right along the edge of the filter to ensure that coffee does not get trapped in the filter’s ripples. This stage of pouring should take anywhere from 1:15 – 1:45.
7) Once the coffee finishes dripping through the filter, it is ready.
