The Audi Q8 e tron & Q6 e tron are Audi’s largest electric SUVs, with the Q6 sitting between the Q4 and Q8 e tron.

In many ways, both cars are surprisingly similar, with not drastic differences in dimensions or interior space. The Q8 e tron is based on the original Audi e tron, which was launched in 2019, whereas the Q6 is on the all-new PPE Platform (Premium Platform Electric) which also underpins cars such as the Porsche Macan EV and the A6 e tron.

Battery technology has improved over that last few years, meaning although its battery is 14kWh smaller than the Q8’s, the Q6 is able to travel approximately an extra 5% on a full charge!

Exterior design has also changed in recent years, with the Q6 sporting a more modern, advanced look, of course, looks are subjective and I can see why some may prefer the more conventional look of the Q8.

Luggage space is only slightly smaller in the Q6, despite being 14cm shorter. Although the Q6 is quite a bit shorter, the actual wheelbase is only around 3cm less than the Q8.

Most buyers (over 80%!) purchase their EV through a lease, work scheme or salary sacrifice. Monthly figures are what most will be looking at, and they can both be had for similar payments. The Q8 had a much higher list price when it was launched, but has been hit with a high depreciation rate, which is suspected to be less on the newer Q6.
