This video features a transcription of the iconic conga solo by legendary conguero Bill Fitch. Insight not only features Bill on congas, but he wrote the composition as well. Bill studied music and composition at Berklee and had parts written out for bass, piano, vibes, timbales, and congas. The tune Insight was originally recorded by Cal Tjader on the album Soña Libré and released in 1963
This solo has been cited as a source of inspiration by many great congueros including Jerry Gonzales, Sammy Figueroa, Giovanni Hidalgo, Don Alias, and many others.
