He grew up on Australia’s east coast, raised in the shaping bay. His dad, Neal Purchase Snr, was part of the early shaping scene in the ‘70s — and that heritage runs deep. Whether he's drawing impossibly clean arcs on a twin-fin fish or shaping a finely-tuned edge board, Neal blends old-school flow with a distinctly modern flair.


From early freesurf edits in Litmus and Glass Love, to the quiet refinement of his own board designs, Neal’s built a reputation for surfing that speaks louder than words. Twin fins, edge boards, channel bottoms — every curve considered, every board shaped by hand.
