Humanism in Education
What are other pros and cons you can think of?
Human Needs; the basis
Humanists believe that understanding and relating to children's basic needs as humans can help to motivate and increase equality in education.
Humanists believe that humans will naturally satisfy their basic human needs before interests.
Basic human needs are what humans need in order to survive; food, shelter, safety, etc.
Ever heard of Montessori Schools?
A great example of using humanism in the classroom is exactly what we are doing right now.
The Jigsaw method.
We are learning, teaching, and expanding on that information.
Conclusion
Maslow is notorious for his "Hierarchy of Needs", which illustrates his theory of motivation.

When the material relates to students, they will be motivated to learn.
