Greenock Methodist Church, Ardgowan Street, Greenock, Scotland. Sadly another local church which was due for demolition. EDIT: Wednesday 22nd January 2025 planning permission for complete demolition has been REFUSED today by Inverclyde Council for a number of reasons under the PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) (SCOTLAND) ACT 1997.
The former Greenock Methodist Church which was completed in 1881 and closed in 2017 is owned by the Ardgowan Hospice and is located in a Conservation Area. Ardgowan Hospice had decided to demolish the building because "its structural integrity has significantly deteriorated" and applied for planning permission in Nov 2024.
