Learn how to make a quick and easy DIY paper milk carton gift box in this tutorial video. This versatile milk carton box can be used for gift packaging, treats, tea bag, gift cards, embellishments, and more. The best part? You can decorate it with lettering, stamps, stickers, washi tapes, embellishments, and charms that are completely unique and customized to the taste of whoever you may be giving this box to. You can use a 12" x 12" sheet of scrapbook paper for a little more work room. Happy papercrafting!
MATERIALS
♡ 12" x 12" scrapbook paper
♡ Scoring board (or use a bone fold and ruler for scoring)
♡ Paper cutting board
♡ Ruler
♡ Pair of scissors
♡ Writing utensil
♡ Paperclip
♡ Optional: embellishments and adhesives (hot glue gun or adhesive foam squares)
DIRECTIONS
1.Cut the paper into a 8" x 11.75" sheet
2. Lay the paper face down with the 8" side parallel to the top of your scoring board (or the 8" side as the horizontal side)
3. Score at these marks: 5/8" mark, 2 3/4" (2.75") mark, 5 7/8" (5.875") mark
6. Turn the paper 90 degrees (the 11 or 11.75" side should be parallel to the top or be the horizontal side now)
7. Score at these marks: 2 3/4" (2.75") mark, 5 1/2" (5.5") mark, 8 1/4" (8.25") mark, 11" mark
8. Fold and crease all score marks
9. Lay the paper face down again with the 11" side parallel to the top of your scoring board
10. Mark and cut out the longer skinny panel along the 8" side of the paper (it should be the panel that measures 3/4" by 2 1/4" )
11. Cut 2 1/4" (2.125") into the page at the bottom, perpendicular to the 11" side
12. Cut the corners off at an angle to create trapezoid panels
13. On the second panel of the second column, mark the middle of the panel using a ruler
14. Skip a panel horizontally and mark the middle of the second panel of the 4th column
15. Draw diagonal lines from each bottom corner to the middle of the top side of the panels
16. Score the diagonal lines (easy way to do this on the scoring board is lining the ruler so it's perpendicular to the top of the scoring board and parallel to a scoring dent. Then line the diagonal lines with the ruler and score.)
17. Glue the 3/4" flap to the opposite side's panel to create your box
18. Glue the trapezoids together to form the bottom
19. Fold in at the diagonals at the top to form the milk carton shape
20. Use a paper clip to close the milk carton
