Agora Mall is one of the largest malls in the Dominican Republic, and in the Caribbean. The word "Agora" denotes the Market or Marketplace in ancient and modern Greek. Agora Mall, along with Acropolis, Blue Mall, Downtown Center, Galeria 360, Sambil, Plaza Central and MegaCentro are some of the most popular shopping locations in the entire country.

You'll find people from all walks of life here, and everything from high end to more pedestrian shops. Of the malls in the capital Agora sits firmly in the middle, more or less tied with Downtown Center. Not as posh nor expensive as Blue Mall or Acropolis but a bit more high end than either Sambil, or Megacentro. Plaza Central is perhaps the oldest mall and is pretty outdated at this point but caters to electronics resale and you can find lots of good deals on phones, laptops and accessories in Plaza Central.

Agora is a great place with a clean, vibrant feel and is great for people watching, a superb location to meet someone for a coffee, or of course to do some shopping.

In this video we will spend most of our time in Jumbo - one of the hypermarkets here in the country. Jumbo has everything from fruits and veggies to beer, wine and liquor, to workout equipment, clothes and electronics. It is very similar to Wal-Mart but has a much cleaner, upscale feel.
