EastEnders cast Stacey Fowler was left hysterical as her children Arthur and Lily were taken away from her by social services.

Carmel Kazemi had hastily reported her after wrongfully thinking she had bruised baby Arthur's arms.

By the time she realised her mistake, it was too late.

Stacey and Martin were forced to watch their children be taken away later that same day.

But while some fans were on the edge of their seats as they watched the drama unfold, others were left confused at the speed that Stacey was investigated.

They took to social media to question the accuracy of the explosive storyline.

One said: "Do the #EastEnders production team do ANY research into the police/law? Prison for Shirley, remand for Martin & now this b******s with Arthur."

Another added: "Another s*** portrayal of social workers and children's services on Eastenders. You don't just take kids just because of an anonymous call."

A third wrote: "Anon referral to children's services and a social worker & 2 police officers remove children same day? Misinforming the public."

A fourth chipped in: "Just to clarify social services won't ever just come in and take your children away, they are there to help you, not hurt you."
