Lok Sabha Elections 2024 | Ground Report: Big Test For BJP's Punjab Plan

Описание: Punjab Election: In Punjab's prestige battle -- the Ludhiana Lok Sabha constituency -- Punjab Congress chief, and three-time MLA Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, is challenging a three-time MP and grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, Ravneet Singh Bittu. Mr Bittu jumped ship from the Congress to join the BJP right before the Lok Sabha elections. While speaking with NDTV's Senior Managing Editor Nikunj Garg, Mr Warring claimed the BJP will end up fifth in the competition, and the grand-old party will emerge as the single largest party in Punjab, with the largest vote share as well. Meanwhile, Mr Bittu spoke about how PM Modi's brand gives him confidence of a comfortable win. He points out that the BJP doesn't contest Lok Sabha polls from this seat, and he is the first BJP candidate in the state. In a swipe at Mr Warring, he called the Congress candidate an outsider, who lost from Bathinda last time, and has now brought many outsides into the Ludhiana Congress unit. Congress has no presence in Ludhiana, he claimed.
