“UGH!” Yes this is the first thought a lot of people have but this is the VITAL piece to showing the work you do, the work your CLIENT does and the impact you both are making together.
When you are able to document clearly and accurately this does a few things:
Increases the quality of services to the client.
Increases the respect you get from your colleagues.
You are able to communicate the value you bring to your clients and the organization.
You are able to pain an accurate picture of the client’s progress or your attempts at progress.
If your notes are ever required in court, you can feel more confident that you have documented your due diligence.
Practice makes perfect, the more you do this the easier and more natural it will become.
When it comes to your work if you don’t document it, it didn’t happen.
