Описание: Madan Mohan, A legendary composer has contributed a
lot to Hindi Film Music. 'Woh Chup Rahe To' is one of his
greatest creations,penned by poet and lyricist Rajendra
Krishna and sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
The song has very distinctive features as it portraits the
need of expressing the emotions,in a very unique way.
The Character urges her lover to speak out. To portray the
correct meaning ,Madan Mohan has composed the first line
"Woh chup rahe to" in lower notes. The melody then takes an
ascending direction when the poet says "Jo Baat Karle"
(which means to speak out).
The second important feature of the song is the use of pauses.
"Kaho, Bujhe ,ke Jale ?.." is the question.(Please tell me
whether I should finish myself or stay alive.). Madan
Mohan puts a pause between these words to emphasize
the question thus amplifying the effectiveness of the
song.

Moreover , the use of 'Komal Nishad' and 'Shudhha Nishad' in
sign lines shows a very brilliant thought process. Keeping
'Taar komal Nishad' on the line ,expressing an extreme
emotional stage “Bujhe to aise ke Jaise kisi garib ka dil” , can also be attributed to
the composer’s magic.
The distance between the two notes ,'Madhya Komal nishad' and
'Mandra Shudhh Nishad' helps to bring out the gap
between the words, ‘Udhar’ and ‘Idhar’.
It is very interesting to see how Lataji pronounces the
words "Ye Khoyi Khoyi Nazar".
The most difficult phrase in the song appears in the
words "Garib ka Dil” and "Veerana", explained
elaborately in this video.
