“The world continues to fall into pieces (or into place - whichever way you want to look at it). Sometimes, it seems almost impossible to believe in human kindness or "a thing called love" anymore.

The song originated during an evening walk on Incherea Road by the Behy River in Glenbeigh a few months after our family moved from Berlin to Ireland.
I sang "Love Is" for my almost sleeping baby, whom I carried close to my heart, and sang it for my other children at home, too. It became an emotional anchor in times of trouble.

One year later we moved to Baile na nGall on the Dingle Peninsula. The place is surrounded by an omnipresent morbidity. Boggy hills and dark shadows of clouds hang over the ravines of Mount Brandon. Suffering had accumulated here over generations and can still be felt. Suffering is like water. (There is a lot of water in Ireland…)
You can drown in it and lose everything or simply get stuck in the mud forever. But hardship can also give you a boost, lead you to new places, give you nourishment and the strength to turn things around, which is necessary to create change.

There, in a wooden shepherd's hut that swayed back and forth in the storm like a rowing boat in the waves moving towards the "Three Sisters" I sat down and finished this song about doubt and the feeling of loneliness: „LOVE IS (everywhere)!" – Henning Fuchs
