Описание: Reputed Toronto Mafia boss Cosimo Commisso, 74, of Thornhill, and three Commisso relatives were the surprise catch among the long list of people arrested in sweeping police raids across the Greater Toronto Area on June 27, 2019. Commisso, who has long been named as a leading ‘Ndrangheta boss, was charged with conspiracy to commit municipal corruption in what police codenamed Project Kraken.

Members of the Commisso clan are among 73 people arrested and charged with a variety of serious charges in a long Toronto police probe that focused on the Chester Lee crew, which Deputy Chief James Ramer called a “coordinated criminal organization.” Along with the alleged mobsters and gang members are seven tow truck drivers link to the organization that was involved in a violent battle over towing territory, a feud that escalated to the point of drivers allegedly carrying guns and be prepared to shoot rivals, police said.
