100% rise in H1! China sees strong growth in auto exports, especially those to EU

These parts are destined for Poland, one of the many European auto markets in need of parts like vacuum pumps and camshafts.

Wen Linghao, vice president, auto parts manufacturer:
"Through the research and development into the industry and into products, we have developed domestic production capacity. The exports of vacuum pumps to Europe have gone up by more than 100 percent compared with the same period last year."

The port here is updated with the latest technologies… part of the reason why more Chinese auto parts makers are going global.
According to the latest customs data, cars and auto parts exports rose by just over 100 percent in the first six months of the year.

Zhao Minhui, deputy chief, Inspection and Evaluation Section, Haishu Customs, Ningbo Customs:
"As the domestic auto parts production and design capabilities gradually improve, the high-tech parts production technology originally monopolized by foreign enterprises has been gradually conquered by Chinese enterprises."

Customs officials say three billion US dollars' worth of car parts passed through the port from January to July this year.
