A team of "NHL Heroes" takes on the "California Heroes" in the NHL Heroes of Hockey game during the 1997 All-Star Friday night in San Jose.
The California Heroes - which include players from the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks and California Golden Seals - are coached by former Seals and Kings coach Fred Glover, and feature a roster that includes Ron Duguay, Jim Fox, Charlie Simmer, Dave Taylor and Doug Wilson. Gilles Meloche and Gary Simmons serve as goalies for the California team.
The NHL Heroes team includes such Hall of Fame players as Gordie Howe, Stan Mikita, Darryl Sittler, Lanny McDonald and Bernie Federko. Richard Brodeur and ESPN's own Darren Pang play in goal for the team.
