Tragic Udhampur Crash: 4 Dead Including CRPF Jawan on Jammu–Srinagar Highway

Описание: Four people, including a CRPF jawan, lost their lives in a horrific road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The incident occurred near the Jakhani-Chenani stretch of the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway around 11 a.m.

Officials said a bus traveling from Doda to Jammu lost control, first hitting a motorcycle and then colliding with a parked Mahindra load carrier being repaired by a mechanic. The motorcycle riders, the mechanic, and the load carrier driver died on the spot, while two bus passengers were thrown out through an emergency window and later succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the site immediately to manage traffic and carry out relief operations. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation, with overspeeding suspected as a possible factor. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, especially on hilly highways.
