After a year of rebuilding our entire house from the ground up, we’re finally mudding and taping the kitchen and dining room! If you’re new here, we tore the whole house down to the floor, added 150 sq ft plus a lofted second floor, lived in our camper all summer, and moved back in long before anything was finished.
Our temporary kitchen has been nothing but a sink, a stove, a fridge, and one countertop — because it was the only sink in the house until the bathroom was done. Now that the bathroom is complete, we’re finally able to focus on bringing the kitchen to life.
In today’s video, we’re tackling the first coat of drywall mud, smoothing seams, covering screws, and getting the walls ready for the next step. Tomorrow we start the second coat, and every layer brings us closer to a real, functional kitchen again.
