Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 Live Updates: As the Budget Session of the Parliament inches closer to its end on April 4, the government took up the Waqf (Amendment) Bill for consideration and passage in the Lok Sabha.
The House witness a showdown as the Opposition said that all INDIA bloc parties are united to “defeat the legislation”.
Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju brought a motion to take up the Bill with amendments. A debate on the matter is being held. Rijiju opened the debate on the Bill and explained the nitigrities of the legislation.
The Bill was first introduced last year and was subsequently referred to a joint parliamentary committee.
