This video lecture is related to the effect of temperature on the solubility of solute.
temperature has the major effect on the solubility. in most cases with increase in temperature also increases the solubility of the substances, but it is not always correct... in some cases with the increase of temperature,, solubility of the solute decreases.
in this regard, there are three possibilities :
1.heat is absorbed
2.heat is given out
3. no change in heat.
in this lesson all the three possibilities of the effect of temperature on solubility have been discussed.. in case of heat is absorbed,, different solutes like potassium chloride, Potassium Nitrate etc when did dissolve in water then test tube becomes cold which represent that it is an endothermic process in which the heat is absorbed in the system. while in case of heat is given out,, when different salts like Lithium sulphate and caesium sulphate are added in water then after their dissolution, heat is given out and test tube becomes warm, this process is called exothermic process,, actually in the case when heat is absorbed temperature is increased that increases the solubility of the solute while in case 2 when the temperature is increased the solubility of the solute decreases which indicates that heat energy is required to break the iron or the attractive forces which are present between the ions.
third possibility is no change in heat. in this case when sodium chloride is dissolved in water then by increasing the temperature has no effect on the solubility of the salt.
