The MultiChoice Group has reported a 99% decline in half-year profits. The pay television company has also recorded a 10% drop in overall revenue.
The DStv owner attributes the reduction to an extremely hostile environment in some countries it operates. It further highlights weaker local currencies, constrained consumer spending, particularly in Nigeria, and extreme power disruptions in Zambia as negative contributing factors. Group CEO Calvo Mawela expands.
