Sometimes you do things that you don't really understand until much later. You play drums in
a band at school, you get immersed in the electronic layers behind video games, and then you fall in
love with analogue machines. Veil has carefully woven all these stages into his project, which is as
musical as it is visual.
His new opus, ‘Borrow My Eyes’, reflects his universe tinged with science fiction, UK
influences, ambient and textural interplay. Variations in broken rhythms collide with flashes of electro
and murky synthetic veils, creating a cinematography that is both raw and enveloping.
The four tracks provoke an experience that is both sonic on the outside and visual on the
inside. Your eyes close and your mind opens up to Veil's mental screen, offering a slice of your
memories that you can interpret with the nostalgia of your choice. The Dutchman job sifre offers a
tangy, deconstructed version of this with his remix of the track ‘Pretty Light’.
