A bird’s-eye view of Brickyard Park and the historic Downdraught Kilns nestled within Eastwood, Sydney.
The park with the two large smokestacks between Eastwood and Epping is a wonderful open space and playground, tucked beneath the iconic chimneys. Built on the site of the former Eastwood Brickworks, the park thoughtfully preserves much of the area’s industrial heritage.
The landscape design makes excellent use of the brickworks’ history, with many original structures retained and repurposed.
Now part of the Cavanstone Estate, this community space features remnants of the old industrial site, including kilns, brick walls and pathways and sculptures crafted from reclaimed materials.
