OSHP shares terrifying crash bodycam, urges drivers to slow down with difficult conditions on Monday

Описание: The Ohio State Highway Patrol is sharing a stark reminder of just how fast conditions can change and how dangerous winter weather can turn the roads.

OSHP posted body camera footage from November on Sunday. The video shows a trooper responding to a car that slid off of I-71 in Mansfield, when a semi loses control on a bridge and sails into the guardrail.

Soon after, the video shows a pickup truck slide off in the same spot.

This comes as the Ohio Department of Transportation is warning drivers could face dicey conditions on Monday, with a combination of winds and fast-falling snow.

“Your visibility is going to be reduced while you're behind the wheel,” said Ray Marsch, a spokesman for ODOT. “Mile by mile, minute by minute, road conditions can change.”

Marsch said Sunday’s rain prevented crews from pre-treating roadways because any salt would have been washed away.
