Описание: → Join me as we fly Southwest Airlines to Chicago! Not Midway, but O'Hare! Southwest just recently had their 1 year anniversary of service out of Chicago O'Hare — and despite many critics saying 'Southwest Won't Last at O'Hare', it appears they are GROWING! More and more routes are being added out of O'Hare for Southwest. I can't wait to see where this goes! But, back to the flight. We start right alongside our arrival aircraft from Las Vegas at gate C44 and push back. Because Southwest is a pro at fast taxi, our taxi to runway 34L for departure was only around 6 minutes! Even though the runway was all the way on the other side of the airport! But nevertheless, we launch out of Denver at high speed, then climb on the EMMYS7 departure, which took us just north of the airport, then a turn to the east, giving us a great view of the airport. We climbed out over many, many fields across the states of Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois, before approaching ORD from the north and joining the pattern for a runway 27R arrival. a storm system was moving in on ORD, so the clouds looked dark and fantastic. During the turn over Lake Michigan, it was hard to tell what was water and what was clouds! Our pilot must have been an ace, because he set our plane down almost directly in the middle of the thousand foot markers, making a perfect landing! Now, since we landed in the state of Wisconsin and have to taxi back to Illinois, we taxied for almost 20 minutes. But those 20 minutes go by pretty quick when you try to identify all the ground traffic we pass. We park at the international terminal at gate M3 and deplane — all but the 63 passengers continuing on to Baltimore. Remind me to never fly out of O'Hare on a Southwest flight coming from or going to Baltimore because the amount of continuing passengers is immense.
