Fire at University of Illinois Dance Studio 09/25/22

On September 25, 2022, at 10:48 AM, a University of Illinois Police Officer reported a working structure fire at the Dance Studio, 905 West Nevada Street, at the University of Illinois in Urbana. Firefighters arrived and found smoke and flames showing from the southeast corner of the building.
Urbana Fire Department Captain Ryan McCarty told Woo-Sung Shim that firefighters used a water pump can on the fire, then deployed one hose line to extinguish it. The small fire was contained to the exterior of the building and drywall was damaged. No one was injured, McCarty said. As of the time of this video upload, the fire remains under investigation. A damage estimate or cause of fire was not immediately available.
