Ukrainian officials held a high-level meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Sluha Narodu faction leader Davyd Arakhamia, and Member of Parliament Andrii Motovylovets to coordinate priorities between the government and parliament.
During the meeting, leaders discussed cooperation between branches of government and outlined next steps on several key national priorities, including defense support, infrastructure recovery, and energy security.
One major topic was road infrastructure. Officials said repair work is underway on international and national highways, including routes in frontline regions. Large-scale repairs are expected to be completed in two phases, with deadlines set for June and October. Authorities said UAH 12.6 billion has already been allocated for the work, with additional funding expected from the state reserve fund. The government is coordinating with the Ministry of Defense to ensure road access in frontline areas, which officials say is critical for defense logistics and medical evacuation.
Energy security was also a key focus of the discussions. Officials said the situation is gradually stabilizing as solar generation increases, while restoration efforts continue at energy facilities damaged during the conflict. Authorities are working to strengthen energy resilience for communities and households, while support programs for businesses remain in place.
The government also announced preparations for the next heating season as part of a broader strategic transformation of the energy system. The National Security and Defense Council has approved comprehensive resilience plans for regions and major cities, developed jointly with regional and municipal authorities. A coordination center will oversee the implementation of these plans.
Leaders also discussed several social initiatives, including a planned 30 percent salary increase for teachers, raising emergency medical workers’ salaries to up to UAH 37,000, and allocating an additional UAH 500 million to increase pay for medical staff working in combat zones.
