Ardgour. Basalt Dyke and tertiary volcanic centres

Описание: Basalt dykes run all the way from the volcanic centres in Rum and Skye across the Ardgour peninsular and inland. These were formed around 60 million years ago as part of the Tertiary Ingeous Province in a major volcanic episode, which saw the initiation of the North Atlantic spreading centre, and continues today in Iceland.
