Salsbury model 85 1947 converted to electric.
4 KW mid-drive motor
Battery 72v 35ah
Top speed 45 mph
Range 40-45 miles
We used the exsiting chain drive of the original set up and connected the mid-drive motor to the drive shaft via another short chain and sprocket, that way we kept the whole set up original and did not interfer with the chassis structure in anyway.
Mid-drive motor seats exactly where the old engine sat and the controller bilts to the back wall above it .
Battery is in the rear storage space as well as a charger.
The original scooter only has a rear drum brake and no front brake so we introduced regenerative brake to help with the braking , it will slow down when easing off the throttle and tapping the brake activate the regen..
