(18 Jun 2018) Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Monday visited an Israel Aerospace Industries warehouse, days after a $1 billion military drone deal was reached between Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Germany.
Germany's parliament approved the agreement to lease Heron TP drones from the state-owned Israeli company through Airbus.
IAI said Thursday the deal was for five drone systems, training for German operators, and support services.
Speaking to journalists, Lieberman said the deal brought national pride.
Lieberman also addressed the ongoing tensions on the Israel-Gaza border saying the flying of incendiary kites cannot continue.
On Monday Israel's military said it struck nine Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in a bid to deter Palestinians from launching incendiary kites and balloons into Israel.
