My Progress on the Google Cybersecurity Certificate (Beginner Update)

Описание: In this video, I share my progress on the Google Cybersecurity Certificate as part of my journey back into cybersecurity.
I’m currently halfway through the program and using it as a structured refresher after spending the last year and a half focused primarily on IT support roles. So far, I’ve found the course to be well organized, highly interactive, and heavy on hands-on labs rather than just multiple-choice quizzes.

I talk about what I’ve learned so far, including core security principles like the CIA Triad, log analysis using Linux, and key NIST frameworks such as NIST 800-37, 800-53, 800-61, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. The program includes practical lab work through Google’s platform, and I’ve also been using my own virtual lab environment to reinforce the learning.

I also share some challenges I ran into, including issues while setting up a Wazuh server and working with Wireshark in a virtual machine. I discuss how I’m organizing my notes, documenting labs, and building material for a future portfolio.

Overall, I give my honest opinion on whether the certificate is worth it, how much time I’m dedicating daily, and how I’m approaching the program aggressively in order to complete it in weeks rather than months.
