The owners of the last tin mine to close in Cornwall have announced it could reopen and start production again. Cornish Metals (previously known as
Strongbow) say they plan to start digging for tin once
more later this year.
Cornish Metal said its project to reopen the mine which has dozens of miles of galleries underground could create between 250 and 300 jobs when it is expected to start South Crofty again in 2026.
