November 17 was the New York premiere of Wicked: For Good. Sure, temperatures were around 40 degrees, but that didn't stop attendees at the event from feeling the magic. And Playbill was on the scene at Lincoln Center to capture the festivities.
Wicked film stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande didn't conduct any interviews that night (Erivo had lost her voice and Grande elected to stick with her co-star in solidarity). But Wicked's creators and cast members did stop by to chat with Playbill's Jeffrey Vizcaíno.
Above, Wicked creators Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz explained why they had to make some changes in adapting their musical for the screen, and Holzman also revealed her favorite of the changes. Plus, Michelle Yeoh revealed how she tapped into her dance and kung fu background to portray Madame Morrible's tornado-creating magic in For Good.
