This video shows the obtaining of the Rain Staff in Dragon Quest on the Game Boy Color. The Rain Staff is a required item in order to complete the game.
The Rain Staff is given in exchange for the Shiny Harp at the Rain Shrine located west of Kol. The Shiny Harp is found deep in the dungeon called Garin's Tomb.
The Rain Staff is not an actual weapon. It is not used in any way other than to exchange again and make the Rainbow Drop at the Southern Shrine.
