Ever-evolving traffic patterns affect the environment, public spaces, and daily life. Michael seeks insight from everyone involved – car companies, drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and urban stakeholders of all kinds – to ensure that his efforts serve the community at large. Intelligent traffic lights, electro-mobility, and data sharing are just a few of the tools Michael uses to make the flow of traffic more efficient and adaptive for all.
The rich and complicated history of traffic density in Los Angeles inspires Michael’s holistic approach and motivates him to build a safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation system.
The EQ Fellowship benefitted Michael by giving him the opportunity to connect with people who look at the core issues of his work from an entirely new angle. He enjoyed collaborating with other Fellows who bring vastly different strengths to the field of mobility, but who are united in their vision for the future. #switchtoEQ
